Re: Multi-name character_reset? descr_names.txt file is actually better since it gives names by faction. In RTW: C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\data\descr_names.txt. In M2TW: C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data\descr_names.txt. M2TW needs to be unpacked before you can see most of the files.

Before the recent update by Steam I had the option (on desktop) to click my M2TW icon then select M2 or one of the Kingdoms games. Now I have to go through Steam, right click the game, then left click which Kingdoms I want to play. I'd like to just have a quick desktop way to get to the game. Any ideas?
Empire and Napoleon Total War doesnt have nor need cheats. tbh its your game, its your choice if you want to use the money cheat or not. Give "Cheat Engine" a try if you must, it allows for you to change the in-game values, such as money, it also works for other games too. Search on web u'll find some trainer.
Re: Finding a characters name in game. Names are recycled as priests, merchants, assassins, and then as new character generals. It's why long lists of names helpS so repeats don't occur as often, or so there's only one living at that time. Removing epithet names helps as then you can creatively use cheats (say to remove bad traits to help the AI).
